Alex is an experienced outdoor professional based in Nethybridge near Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland, he has been mountaineering for over 15 years. He has been climbing all over the globe, from the Canadian Rockies to the French, Austrian, German, Swiss and Italian Alps.

Alex has lived in Strathspey for four years and has developed a sound understanding of the local area which allows him to tailor courses to your needs and adapt for different weather conditions. We always have several “plan A’s” up our sleeve!
Alex is a keen Ski-Mountaineer, notable tours include the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute route via the Plateaux des Couloirs.
Alex holds the Mountain Instructor Award, the highest UK summer based instructional award and Winter Mountain Leader he is also a trainee MIC. Alex also holds the highest qualification for Mountain Bike instruction in the UK, the MBLA’s Mountain Bike Leader Award as well as being an Aspirant Tutor for the MBLA (a role which involves training and assessing other instructors). As well as these Alex holds his Level 3 Inland Kayak Coach, Level 2 Open Canoe Coach & BASI Alpine Instructor Level 2.
